Ahh, summer is upon us. This means bbq, swimming, vacation and METAL! Some of the best metal bands on the planet will be touring this year. The summer of 2009 is going to rock! Below you will find a list of a few shows that you don’t want to miss.

Sadly, the epic Ozzfest tour will not be going on the road. Rumor has it; Ozzy Osbourne is taking a break from organizing the festival to focus on his new album. However, there are huge tours planned and tons of fresh talent to check out.

Petal to the Metal Hardcore metal fans will unite at the Petal to the Metal tour this summer. Featuring Static-X, Mudvayne, Black Label Society, Suicide Silence, Dope and Bury Your Dead. This 3 month tour will start in Portland on July 24th and come to a screeching halt in Oklahoma City. Attention all metal fans in North America, its time to get down!

Crue Fest Motley Crue is back together and ready to rock. Teaming up with Godsmack, Theory of a DeadMan, Drowning Pool and Charm City Devils this tour is guaranteed to please the true rock fans.

Vans Warped Tour The one and only Warped Tour is kicking off on June 26th at Pomona Fairplex in California. This year Vans is celebrating the 15 year anniversary of the Warped tour. They will be bringing out the big guns (and talent) for a show that will go down in history! Over 80 bands are scheduled to appear. Including: Bouncing Souls, NOFX, Gallows and Baysid…just to name a few.

AC/DC: Black Ice Tour One of the most popular bands in the world is taking you on the Highway to Hell. AC/DC has been rocking crowds for over 30 years, aged to perfection. The high energy sets from this AC/DC will absolutely blow you away. Front man Brian Johnson was born to rock the mic and the band performs together flawlessly.

Judas Priest & Whitesnake Who doesn’t love 80’s hair metal? The uplifting riffs and melodic vocals of Judas Priest and Whitesnake are absolutely addicting. This tour kicks off on July 1st and additional tour dates may be added.

Some of 09’s summer metal concert tours will feature legendary bands that may never tour again! So, get your tickets before it’s too late!
